Inter looking to extend contract with Cristian Chivu

Inter's management is preparing to sign a new contract with Cristian Chivu. The Romanian tactician surprised everyone by leading the team to the 2025-26 Serie A title in his debut season. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the club plans to extend the 45-year-old coach's contract until June 2028. As part of this deal, Chivu's annual salary is expected to increase from €2.1 million to €3 million.
Taking over the team after Simone Inzaghi's departure, Chivu fundamentally transformed Inter's style of play in a short time. Club president Beppe Marotta has highly valued the coach's work and repeatedly emphasized his desire for him to stay in Milan for many years.
Chivu's coaching career has developed very rapidly. He worked in the Inter youth academy from 2018 to 2024, and had a short stint at Parma in early 2025. His transition from developing young talents to managing big stars has been highly successful.
