Wrexham, having secured promotion to the second tier of English football, has officially announced squad changes ahead of the summer transfer window. Manager Phil Parkinson has decided to part ways with several experienced players to reshape the team. This is reported by Goal.com .
The most prominent name on the list of departing players is veteran striker Jay Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who once played alongside Wayne Rooney for the England national team, is leaving the club after a 15-month spell. Additionally, midfielder Andy Cannon has also parted ways with the club after an injury-plagued season.
In their statement, the Wrexham board thanked these players for their contributions to the team's success. Rodriguez and Cannon will now begin searching for new clubs as free agents.
While the club has extended the contracts of young talents Aaron James, Alex Moore, and Rio Owen, they plan to be active during the summer transfer window to strengthen the first team. The club aims to achieve even higher results next season.
