Wayne Rooney reveals who he thinks is the greatest manager of all time

Former England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has answered the question of who is the best manager in football history. The English legend placed Sir Alex Ferguson at the top of the list.
In Rooney's opinion, Pep Guardiola is the best manager of his generation. The Spanish tactician has achieved great dominance with Manchester City, established a new culture of play in the Premier League, and proven to be far ahead of his rivals.
At the same time, Rooney places Ferguson on a unique level when considering all of football history.
"I've seen many comparisons with Alex Ferguson. I can say that Ferguson is the best manager of all time, but Pep is undoubtedly the best of his generation and he is far ahead of the rest," said Rooney.
The former striker described Ferguson's 26-year tenure at Manchester United as an incredible achievement. In his view, working with such loyalty to one club for so long while constantly fighting for trophies is a rare occurrence.
Rooney also noted that when Ferguson arrived at Manchester United, the situation at the club was much different than it is at Manchester City today. According to him, Sir Alex practically rebuilt the team from scratch and turned it into one of the biggest forces in English and European football over the years.
Although Pep Guardiola started under different conditions, his total dominance at City and his football philosophy leave no room for doubt. Rooney acknowledged this aspect, praising the Spaniard's impact on modern football.
In short, for Rooney, the number one in history is Sir Alex Ferguson. But in the current generation, there is no manager who can match Pep Guardiola. One built a 26-year empire, the other "updated" football. It is hard to compare, but the debate is fascinating.
