Inter President dismisses rumors about Bastoni's move to Barcelona

Inter President Giuseppe Marotta has put an end to rumors regarding the transfer of defender Alessandro Bastoni to Barcelona. The Nerazzurri chief emphasized that the Italian international remains an integral part of the club's long-term project and the player himself has expressed no desire to leave. This is reported by Goal.com .
In an interview with DAZN, Marotta addressed questions about Bastoni's future. Although Barcelona has been closely monitoring the talented center-back, Inter stated they have no intention of selling one of their most valuable assets. According to the president, the club's financial strategy does not require selling key players unless the player requests a transfer.
"In principle, we are not a selling club. If a player leaves, it is because they have expressed a desire to do so. Bastoni has expressed no such desire. He is happy to stay with us, so there is no need to sell him. I think he will be with us for a long time," said Marotta, commenting on the situation at San Siro.
Bastoni was a cornerstone in Inter's Serie A title-winning campaign. Marotta highlighted the importance of keeping the core group of leaders in the dressing room to continue success both domestically and in Europe. Players like Barella, Bastoni, and Lautaro form the team's backbone.
Marotta also confirmed that the club will continue its collaboration with head coach Cristian Chivu. Following the Scudetto and Coppa Italia victories, the former defender will be offered a new long-term contract. The club's management considers his growth an essential part of the team's institutional development.
