In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Flamini explained how he founded GFBiochemicals. Arriving at the Milanello training ground in 2008 at the age of 24, he was inspired by the entrepreneurial atmosphere there. According to him, Berlusconi visited the training base every week and wanted players not to limit themselves only to sports.
"Silvio Berlusconi opened up a whole new world for me. He was an entrepreneur who won in all fields, such as football, business, and politics. He would even travel with us to away games and encouraged players to have other interests. He was a true inspiration for me," says Flamini.
Flamini, who played for Arsenal twice, did not hide his pride in his scientific achievements. He noted that he discovered chemistry while playing for Milan, and thanks to his patents, the world is becoming more environmentally friendly. In his spare time from training, he worked on sustainable chemical solutions for health and the environment.
The former footballer emphasized that traits such as discipline, teamwork, and goal-oriented focus in professional sports are also very important in business. Currently, his company holds over 200 patents for molecules derived from plant biomass and is implementing green alternative chemical solutions promoted by the US government.
