Uzbek referees sent off to the FIFA World Cup

Today, a special meeting was held at the Uzbekistan Football Association to see off the refereeing team led by Ilgiz Tantashev to the FIFA World Cup. UFA officials attended the event, warmly congratulating our referees ahead of the historic tournament and wishing them success.

UFA First Vice-President Ravshan Irmatov emphasized in his speech that this event is of great significance for Uzbek football. He noted that having both a national team and a refereeing team participating in the World Cup simultaneously is typical of countries with developed football infrastructures. Today, Uzbekistan is joining the ranks of such nations.

"You will take the pitch there representing Uzbekistan and leave an impression of our country on millions of football fans. Naturally, the responsibility and pressure will be high. However, I believe that you will overcome these challenges with dignity," said Ravshan Irmatov.

He also expressed that the Uzbekistan Football Association, the referees' mentors, and the entire football community will always support them. This trust will undoubtedly be a great source of mental strength for our referees, as every decision, every whistle, and every episode at the World Cup will be under intense scrutiny.

The participation of the refereeing team led by Ilgiz Tantashev in the tournament is a major recognition for the Uzbek refereeing school. This is not just a personal success, but a sign of growth, trust, and international reputation in the country's football.

At the end of the event, a commemorative photo was taken with the refereeing team, and they were wished great success in their duties at the FIFA World Cup. In short, another historic page is being turned for Uzbek football — this time, not only our players but also our referees will perform a responsible task on behalf of our country.
