OpenAI’s new models can think through images
OpenAI has unveiled two new AI models — o3 and o4-mini — just two days after releasing GPT-4.1, ixbt.com reported.
The o3 model is OpenAI’s most advanced to date, showing strong reasoning in coding, math, and science. o4-mini is a lighter but still effective alternative.
Their most notable feature is the ability to interpret images. ChatGPT can now analyze sketches, diagrams, and photos, enabling multi-step reasoning with visual input.
OpenAI also announced Codex CLI, a new tool for code generation. A more powerful o3-pro version is expected in the coming weeks.
