Elon Musk plans to build a million-robot army

The well-known entrepreneur and head of Tesla, Elon Musk, plans to create an "army of a million robots," Wired reports. He also emphasized the need for stronger control over the company.

In a conversation with investors, Musk said:

"Imagine that I have created a huge army of robots. Could someone push me aside at such a time? If we create this army, will I at least be able to exert a strong influence on it? It's not about control, it's about influence. If I don't have influence, this project will be dangerous for me."

According to the billionaire, the robots named Optimus being developed by Tesla could be useful in various fields - working in factories and even caring for children.

"Optimus can be a very good surgeon. Imagine if everyone had access to such an excellent surgeon," Musk said. According to him, with the help of Tesla robots, a new world will be created "where poverty is eradicated and every person can access the highest level of medical care."

It is reported that by February or March of next year, the prototype of the Optimus will be ready for full development. Mass production of robots is planned to begin at the end of 2026. At the initial stage, it is expected that up to 5,000 humanoid robots will be delivered.
