GTA 5’s Michael voice actor becomes a swatting victim again

American actor Ned Luke, who voiced Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V, has once again faced “swatting” — a deliberate false report to the police. This time it happened during a livestream he hosted together with Rob Wiethoff (the voice of John Marston in Red Dead Redemption). Footage of the police visit was later uploaded to YouTube. Playground.ru reports.reports.
Luke says that since December 2023 he has been “targeted” at least eight times because of such calls. Due to the repeated incidents, he has already reached the point where local officers recognize him: they come to his home unarmed, even greet him and shake his hand. Still, police are required to check any suspicious report — regardless of the circumstances, they respond to the address.
Swatting is considered one of the most dangerous kinds of “pranks,” as it can lead to serious consequences for both victims and law enforcement officers. Ned Luke has repeatedly drawn public attention to the issue and urged people to stop such actions.
The news also sparked sarcastic comments on social media: some joke that the officers are “just fans who came for an autograph.” Others ask why, if it has happened eight times, the precinct hasn’t introduced an additional verification step for that address — for example, calling Ned Luke first to confirm what’s going on.
