RuneScape player opens three years’ worth of treasure at once

There are plenty of legends about gamers’ patience: some build a city in Minecraft for years, others finish Elden Ring without taking damage. But in the MMORPG genre, that kind of perseverance looks even more intense. The Old School RuneScape community witnessed a real “dopamine blast” — a player decided to open in a single day the rewards he had been saving for three years. playground.ru reportsreports.
Popular OSRS streamer and content creator Pen Sir announced that he has completed a marathon that lasted nearly three years. He regularly completed special puzzle-style tasks, but instead of claiming the rewards right away, he stockpiled sealed chests. As a result, his collection grew to more than 10,000 boxes.
Ahead of the big January 3 “unboxing,” the streamer didn’t hide his excitement. He said that during all that time he accidentally opened only one box, and lost about 80 more due to carelessness in a PvP area. All the remaining treasures stayed untouched.
At first, the hoarding was planned to help him win a clan event, but that voluntary competition ultimately never took place. Still, the collector’s drive didn’t stop Pen Sir. Now he’s playing in a hardcore mode that doesn’t allow trading, hoping to obtain the rarest Third Age gear.
To resist the temptation to open the chests early, he used loot simulators and updated the odds table every week. “For the last one or two nights I’ve slept only 1–2 hours — my excitement is through the roof,” the streamer said ahead of the final broadcast. For OSRS fans, it felt like the first tile falling in a massive domino chain built up over years.
