In USA, stolen Mac mini found by owner after being put up for sale

An incident in the USA related to the theft of a Mac mini computer had an unexpected ending. The owner of the device managed to identify the thief on an online marketplace. According to the Reddit user known as Vanifest0, he had ordered the computer in mid-March, but had to wait four weeks due to shortages. Ixbt.com reports this.

The problem arose during delivery: instead of leaving the box at the door, the FedEx courier placed it in the building's common area, from where the device was stolen. When the victim reported this to his manager, the latter mentioned that stolen items often appear on the Facebook Marketplace platform and advised checking that place.

In the photos in the listing, the owner spotted two important details: the device's serial number and the car's license plate. The serial number matched the data on the receipt, and the car in the photo turned out to be a vehicle parked in the residential building's parking lot. This confirmed that the thief lived in the same building.

After that, the victim filed a complaint with the police and the building management company. Apple studied the situation and agreed to deliver a new device, but due to shortages, the user will have to wait until June.
