Spotify announced on Thursday that its interactive AI DJ feature now supports four new languages. Users can now listen to musical commentary in French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Previously, this feature was only available in English and Spanish. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
The company introduced new AI DJ personas, each with a unique name and character: Maia, Ben, Alex, and Dani. Along with the language expansion, the feature has been launched in countries such as Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland. Currently, the AI DJ is available in over 75 countries worldwide.
Initially, the AI DJ only selected music based on user preferences and provided brief information about them. However, with updates introduced in May 2025, the feature became more interactive. Now, users can communicate with the AI DJ, similar to AI systems like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and send music requests based on mood or genre.
Spotify is regularly adding new AI-powered capabilities to its app. Specifically, users can now create custom playlists by simply describing the type of music or podcast they want.
