SpaceX may build a new spaceport in the Louisiana wetlands

Information has surfaced online that SpaceX may purchase a vast area in the US state of Louisiana. The report concerns approximately 550,000 square meters of marshland located south of Highway 82 in the Pecan Island and Freshwater City area. This was reported by Ixbt.com .

This news was shared by Jim Keaty, a realtor at Keaty Real Estate. According to him, the area could be intended for Elon Musk's company's future Starship launches and the creation of new infrastructure.

The area near the Freshwater City boat station is of particular interest. It offers direct access to the Gulf of Mexico and features land suitable for conversion into a port. The site is conveniently located between Boca Chica, Texas, and Cape Canaveral, Florida.

SpaceX previously announced plans to increase Starship flights to thousands per year. To achieve this, the company will need multiple launch sites across the US and the world. Company representatives noted that they are constantly exploring new locations to expand Starship operations.
