DeepSeek prices drop sharply: Much cheaper than GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.7

DeepSeek has significantly reduced API prices for its V4 Pro model. The cost for 1 million cached input tokens is now just $0.0036, while output tokens cost $0.87. This is one of the lowest prices in the AI market. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports .

According to SCMP, Artificial Analysis requires $268 to run performance tests for this model. For comparison, the latest flagship models from OpenAI and Anthropic — GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.7 — are 12 and 19 times more expensive, respectively, for the same task.

Artificial Analysis is an independent firm that benchmarks AI models and conducts comparative analysis, evaluating speed, quality, and the level of intelligence provided per dollar. Such independent tests allow for objective comparison of models using standardized methods.

Interestingly, most of the leading models in the Artificial Analysis "intelligence per dollar" ranking were developed in China. These include models such as MiniMax M2.7 and Xiaomi MiMo V2.5 Pro. The DeepSeek startup had previously reduced the price of its flagship model by 75%.
