Figure increased humanoid robot production 24-fold in four months

The American company Figure AI has announced a sharp increase in the production rate of its humanoid robots. According to the company, in less than 120 days, the production of the Figure 03 model has scaled from one unit per day to one unit per hour. This represents a 24-fold increase in assembly line productivity. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

According to the developers, more than 350 third-generation robots have been produced to date, along with over 9,000 various actuators used in the construction of the humanoids. While these numbers might seem modest for the automotive industry, for the humanoid robot market, this is one of the most significant production leaps in recent years.

Figure believes the industry is entering a new phase. While the focus was previously on videos of robots dancing or running, competition is now shifting toward mass production, reliability, and data collection for AI training. Each operational robot collects vast amounts of data on movements, errors, and the environment, which serves to improve control algorithms.

To scale production, Figure developed proprietary software that manages over 150 interconnected workstations. For quality control, more than 50 intermediate inspection stages and over 80 final tests for each robot have been implemented. Additionally, burn-in tests consisting of thousands of repetitive movements are conducted to test batteries and identify latent defects.

Figure is currently building the infrastructure necessary to manage large fleets of robots. This includes systems for remote software updates, fault diagnostics, and maintenance services for the entire fleet. According to the company, the successful assembly rate for the robots has already exceeded 80 percent.
