Electronic cigarettes to be completely banned in Uzbekistan
The Senate plenary session on April 30 considered and approved a law that provides for a complete ban on electronic cigarettes in Uzbekistan.

The law “On Amendments and Addenda to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Further Strengthen Requirements for the Circulation of Certain Types of Tobacco Products, Tobacco and Nicotine Consumption Devices” introduces amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which provide for liability for the production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or sale, as well as import and export of prohibited tobacco products, electronic nicotine delivery systems, including electronic cigarettes and liquids for them.

According to the Senate press service, this law is not only aimed at punishing guilty individuals, but also provides for the exemption from liability of persons who voluntarily reported to the authorities about their illegal actions and handed over prohibited products.

According to the senators, the law serves to protect the life and health of the population, preserve the nation's gene pool, and protect the environment from new types of tobacco and nicotine products.
