The President received an EU representative and the chairman of Gazprom Neft
On May 13, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais.

The EU Special Representative conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

Issues of expanding bilateral and regional cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the decisions taken at the first Central Asia-European Union summit held in Samarkand in April of this year were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the rapid preparation and promotion of specific projects for investment and financial and technical cooperation worth a total of 12 billion euros.

Views were exchanged on pressing issues on the regional agenda, as well as the plan of future activities was considered.

On May 13, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Board of the Russian company Gazprom Neft, who was in Tashkent within the framework of the international forum "Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan".

Issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with the leading Russian fuel and energy company were discussed.

Opportunities for developing partnership in the supply of petroleum products, development of hard-to-extract deposits, and digitalization of the sector were considered.
