Iranian airspace closed - several flights returned to Tashkent

According to an official source from Uzbekistan Airports, the country's airspace has been temporarily closed due to the tense military situation in Iran. This change affected international flights, and a number of flights were redirected to the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.

Uzbekistan Airways flight HY5343 Tashkent-Jeddah returned to the air and landed at Tashkent International Airport at 06:18. Fly Dubai flight FZ1942 (Tashkent-Dubai) also made an emergency landing in Tashkent at 06:37 local time.

In addition, Air Cairo flight SM882 from Almaty to Sharm el-Sheikh (07:46) and Qatar Airways flight QR8985 from Seoul to Doha (07:57) also landed in Tashkent for safety reasons. All flights were received by Uzbekistan Airports, and passengers were provided with the necessary conditions.

Centrum Air flight C63341 from Tashkent to Doha was delayed before takeoff and passengers were temporarily accommodated in the terminal.

The reason for these changes was the large-scale military operation carried out by Israel against Iranian nuclear facilities. As a result of the Israeli attack, Iran declared a state of emergency and closed its airspace. This situation seriously affected air traffic throughout the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has warned its citizens. The Uzbek embassy in Israel has recommended that our compatriots take security measures, taking into account possible missile attacks. The embassy in Iran also urged citizens to stay informed of official information.
