Heavy traffic observed in Tashkent
July 2 — This morning, a significant traffic jam occurred in the eastern direction of the capital — from the Food City shopping complex through the Qo‘yliq market along Farg‘ona Yo‘li street to the Muxtor Ashrafiy (Risoviy) market. The traffic jam, lasting for hours, once again revealed serious issues in the city’s infrastructure.

The length of the jam across this area is approximately 7 kilometers. According to eyewitnesses, some public transport vehicles had to travel this distance in 2, even 3 hours. Most notably, this situation was observed even on Farg‘ona Yo‘li street, where there are special lanes allocated for buses.

“I left around 9:00 a.m. It took me 2 hours to reach my destination near the Food City market. The passengers on the bus were exhausted and frustrated. Not only me — most people were late to work,” said one of the passengers.

The causes of the traffic jam have not yet been disclosed.
