A new stage in Namangan: investments, new jobs and anti-poverty programs
Reforms and socio-economic changes in Namangan region are continuing at a new pace, reports president.uz. On July 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the work being carried out in the region, the implementation of projects, and the expected results.

As emphasized by the head of state, in accordance with the decision adopted on December 2, 2024, specific measures were determined for the development of Namangan and improvement of the business environment. This year, it is planned to attract $4.2 billion in investments to the region, achieve $1 billion in exports, create 323 thousand new jobs, and lift 55 thousand families out of poverty.

The main foundation on this path is small business and entrepreneurship. In the region, 82% of the working-age population are employed precisely in this sector. Since the beginning of the year, almost $1.6 billion in investments have been made in the region, but most of the funds have been concentrated in the central districts and the city of Namangan. Therefore, it was noted that it is necessary to launch new projects and increase export varieties also in the remote districts.

There are also significant achievements in agriculture. In Yangiyorgan district, the income from one hectare of land has exceeded $20,000, serving as an example for other districts as well.

Thanks to the activity of the “Reforms Headquarters” established on the initiative of the President, an additional $1 billion worth of projects have been formed in the region. At the meeting, new opportunities were presented: a total of 12,000 jobs will be created, the budget will receive an additional 200 billion soums, and sources of exports totaling $160 million will be created.

Among the new projects, the programs for intensive fish farming in household plots in Norin district and the development of duck farming in Mingbulak hold a special place. These initiatives will not only ensure food security but also provide employment for thousands of people.

In the region, 55,000 people are unemployed, and 44,000 families live in poverty. The president gave instructions to solve these problems — to create new jobs, direct the population to professions, and establish a source of income in every household. At the same time, specific directions have been set to strengthen the social environment and prevent crime in the neighborhoods.
