
A presidential decree “On measures to improve the efficiency, proactivity and effectiveness of the state governance system” has been published. According to the decree, the head of the Presidential Administration has been granted a number of new powers.
Powers of the Head of the Presidential Administration:
- Appointment and dismissal of deputy presidential advisers and deputy heads of the structural divisions of the Administration, the Head of the Compliance Service, the Head of the Chancellery, and administrative staff of the Administration, including those who were previously appointed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Until the relevant legislative amendments are introduced, all rights, privileges, guarantees, powers and other rules specified in the laws and by-laws for employees appointed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the special procedure for access to state secrets, shall apply to these employees;
- Approval of the staffing schedule of the Administration;
- Direct recruitment of local and foreign specialists and experts, including scientists, researchers and analysts, based on the principles of project management for the implementation of development projects; ensuring monitoring of their performance results, including through the Fund for Supporting the Activities of the Administration;
- Independently determining the amount of remuneration and paying for the services (salaries) of local and foreign specialists and experts in national or foreign currency.
It should be noted that, according to this decree, the Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC) has been abolished. Also, five deputies were previously appointed to the head of the Administration. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
