According to the National Statistics Committee, as of January 1, 2025, there are a total of 10 244 241 families in the Republic of Uzbekistan. This indicator provides an important picture of the composition of households, territorial density, and the scale of needs for infrastructure.
By regions, the number of families is as follows:
— Republic of Karakalpakstan – 499 417
— Andijan region – 946 450
— Bukhara region – 615 418
— Jizzakh region – 370 967
— Kashkadarya region – 911 917
— Navoi region – 307 744
— Namangan region – 834 796
— Samarkand region – 1 082 846
— Surkhandarya region – 740 005
— Syrdarya region – 251 415
— Tashkent region – 913 510
— Fergana region – 1 177 396
— Khorezm region – 580 823
— Tashkent city – 1 011 537
From the numbers it is visible that in large regions such as Fergana (1 177 396), Samarkand (1 082 846) and Tashkent city (1 011 537), the share of households is significant. In regions close to centers such as Andijan (946 450) and Tashkent region (913 510), the number of households is also high. These observations can be explained by urbanization processes, internal migration flows and the increase in demand for service sectors (this interpretation is a general analytical conclusion).
Knowing the regional composition is of great importance in planning communal infrastructure, educational institutions, medical services and social programs. The official records serve as a clear starting point for housing policy, mortgage directions and projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the population.
At the same time, we remind that this latest cut regarding the number of households relates to the beginning of 2025. Thus, during the year, as a result of demographic changes and internal relocations, the picture will be updated to a certain extent naturally.
