A significant incident occurred in the Moynoq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, where a newly drilled gas well unexpectedly caused a gas leak. On July 26, 2023, during drilling at 4707 meters, gas started to surge out due to an unexpected process. The local and international experts, supported by specialized equipment, successfully dealt with the emergency situation, preventing further contamination and damage.
In response to the emergency, an operational headquarters was formed, which included representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, local authorities, and military units. The headquarters operated efficiently and collaboratively to address the situation.
Thanks to coordinated actions from the team and the use of advanced technology and the experience of international companies, the incident was successfully resolved. The gas was successfully contained, and the well was restored to a safe state.
200 workers who participated in resolving the incident were awarded certificates of appreciation and souvenirs for their efforts.
