At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, delivered a speech, presenting a series of important proposals regarding regional cooperation and strategic priorities.
According to the head of state, given current global economic trends, it is crucial to expand trade and economic partnerships, establish reliable production and logistics chains, attract investments, and implement new mechanisms.
The president outlined several practical initiatives, including:

a Regional SCO Center on Strategic Materials to introduce advanced technologies in mineral extraction and processing;

a SCO Energy Consortium to accelerate the development of “green” energy;

a network of venture companies and funds to support startups and innovative projects;

a special electronic portal to encourage business dialogue and investment.
Mirziyoyev also emphasized the importance of fully utilizing transport and transit potential. He stressed the need to create a “Single SCO Transport Space” and align it with the “One Belt – One Road” initiative, while developing new multimodal networks, digital platforms, and “green” corridors.
He further noted that the time has come to establish a regional platform for climate adaptation, reduction of harmful emissions, and forecasting of environmental risks with the use of artificial intelligence technologies.
In the cultural and humanitarian sphere, proposals included holding folk art festivals, creating an online campus for the “SCO University,” organizing competitions and Olympiads among students and young professionals in innovative fields, as well as launching projects such as the “Tourism Route” and the Medical Tourism Alliance.
Thus, at the SCO summit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented concrete initiatives aimed at deepening economic cooperation, developing transport and logistics, advancing “green” transformation, and strengthening cultural exchanges across the organization’s space.
