In order to prevent offenses, as well as to quickly and effectively detect them, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles - drones - has begun in the internal affairs bodies. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Crime Prevention Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rakhimjon Nayimov.
It is reported that the use of drones in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs began first in the Bukhara region. In 2024, based on instructions given during the head of state's visit to Bukhara region, the regional administration purchased a total of 150 modern drones.
"Currently, measures are being taken to provide drones to employees of 84 law enforcement agencies in 5 regions. These devices were purchased by the ministry. The issue of acquiring more drones in the near future is also being considered. "By the end of 2026, it is planned to fully provide all district and city departments with unmanned aerial vehicles," said Rakhimjon Nayimov.
According to the ministry representative, drones are mainly used to prevent offenses in areas with a serious criminogenic situation, detect petty hooliganism, violations of environmental rules, and drug-related offenses, as well as to implement preventive measures.
"Air control will be carried out using drones, and internal affairs officers will take prompt measures in response to the identified cases. "Unmanned aerial vehicles are significantly effective in detecting and preventing offenses," he said.
It was added that the practice of regularly improving the qualifications of senior prevention inspectors in the effective flight and control of drones has been established. It should also be noted that in April 2024, the introduction of the use of drones in the activities of internal affairs bodies was announced.
