The most expensive pilaf in Uzbekistan is reportedly sold in Tashkent

In Uzbekistan, a new report on the prices of one of the most popular national dishes — pilaf — has been published. According to the August analysis by the Statistics Agency, the price of one kilogram of pilaf was evaluated differently across the regions.

The capital Tashkent once again became the leader with the most expensive pilaf. According to the official report, the average price per kilogram of pilaf amounted to 117,400 soums. Interestingly, in February of this year, the price was 10,000 soums cheaper.

The top three most expensive also included Tashkent region (113,600 soums) and Fergana region (115,000 soums). In Samarkand, this figure was recorded at 113,400 soums.

The cheapest pilaf was recorded in Karakalpakstan. There, the average price per kilogram did not exceed 98,600 soums. In Andijan region, the price was 105,500 soums, and in Syrdarya region — 105,700 soums, making pilaf purchases relatively more affordable.

The prices of pilaf in other regions were as follows:
– Bukhara — 108,400 soums,
– Jizzakh — 110,000 soums,
– Kashkadarya — 111,700 soums,
– Surkhandarya — 111,500 soums,
– Navoi — 110,000 soums,
– Namangan — 109,400 soums,
– Khorezm — 107,000 soums.

Officials noted that the difference in prices is mainly related to the cost of ingredients on the market, especially meat and vegetables. In addition, regional consumption habits also affect the overall cost of pilaf.

Thus, Tashkent remained in first place with the highest pilaf prices, while Karakalpakstan was marked as the region offering the cheapest pilaf.
