In the “MTTY” store, owned by “SMT” LLC and located in the city of Andijan, a control purchase of clothing for newborns manufactured in Turkey was carried out.
The selected product was submitted to an accredited testing laboratory, and during the analysis the following non-compliances with technical regulations were identified:
-
the main fabric consists of 100% cotton, while the decorative fabric is 100% polyester fiber;
-
connecting seams on the front side of the item were not made;
-
decorative elements made of synthetic fiber directly touch the baby’s neck and arm skin;
-
the amount of free formaldehyde exceeded the standard: instead of 20 µg/g, it was 22.6 µg/g.
According to specialists, the use of such products may cause allergic diseases and skin inflammation in children.
Currently, measures are being taken against “SMT” LLC, which sold these non-compliant products. Requests have been sent for the removal of the goods from retail outlets, and the issue has been taken under strict control.
