No one can deny that Uzbekistan has enormous potential in the field of tourism. The task set by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to increase the number of tourists visiting the country to 15 million by 2030 also indicates that this sector has become one of the priority areas.
The economic significance of tourism is not limited to the number of visitors. Its value is also measured by the created high-quality jobs and its contribution to the gross domestic product. Therefore, it is expected that about 1 million new jobs will be created in the tourism sector in the near future. Naturally, this will give a powerful impetus to economic growth and employment in our country.
However, the issue of training competent and qualified personnel is crucial for achieving these goals. Because currently, the level of education and professional training in the country is insufficient. Many specialists working in the field need to improve their qualifications.
Therefore, the improvement of the education system in the field of tourism and hospitality is defined as an urgent task. Officials emphasized that three main reforms should be implemented in this area.
The first direction is the expansion of educational opportunities. It is necessary to create a wide choice and convenience for students through short-term courses, evening classes, online and hybrid educational programs.
Secondly, it is important to update curricula in accordance with market needs. With the help of practice-oriented programs, encompassing modern knowledge, future personnel can become competitive.
The third direction is the establishment of cooperation with the private sector. Improving the professional skills of students through internships and practical training will bring the quality of the tourism sector to a new level.
At the end of the article, it is noted that education is an important factor in the sustainable development of the tourism industry. To achieve consistency between education and the labor market, the public and private sectors must jointly implement modern programs.
Thanks to such an approach, the rich cultural heritage and natural resources of Uzbekistan will be fully appreciated, the potential of the younger generation will be fully revealed, and the tourism sector will become a worthy competitor in the global market.
