Mirziyoyev and Czech President Petr Pavel met face to face for the first time

Yesterday, September 23, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a historic first meeting with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, within the framework of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbek leader.

During the meeting, issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Special attention was given to joint projects in the fields of investment, innovation, transport infrastructure, and agriculture. It was also noted that the parties agreed to actively develop interagency relations between the states.

In the course of the dialogue, the parties also expressed their readiness to expand cooperation in cultural, educational, and technological areas. The meeting was considered an important step not only in strengthening relations between the leaders of the two countries, but also in further developing cooperation between the peoples and business communities.

For reference, this meeting between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Petr Pavel is the first of its kind. Previously, the presidents had not met face to face. The event served as an important foundation for strategic cooperation and a number of joint projects in the near future.
