Illegal medicines worth 6 billion stopped at Fergana border

In the Fergana region, the smuggling of illegal medicines was prevented.

During operational measures carried out jointly by servicemen of the Border Troops of the State Security Service and employees of the regional department, it was revealed that a large amount of potent medicines had been left at the section of the “Uzbek-Kyrgyz” state border in the Polmon mahalla of Kuvasay city.

During the inspection, it was found that 7 boxes illegally brought from the Kyrgyz Republic contained 53,522 units of “Regapen” and 20,000 units of “Zardex”. Their total value amounts to 6 billion 19 million 980 thousand soums.

At present, a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code regarding this situation. Law enforcement agencies are taking necessary measures to identify the owners of the medicines and the persons involved in this case.
