President expressed deep condolences to the memory of Ismail Djurabekov

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed condolences on the passing of Ismail Jurabekov, a prominent statesman and public figure who made great contributions to the development of irrigation and land reclamation, at the age of 94.

Ismail Hakimovich Jurabekov, who passed away on September 28, 2025, made a great contribution to the implementation of reforms in the water management system and agriculture in the republic for many years.

Born on September 12, 1931, in the city of Samarkand, Jurabekov studied at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. In 1955, he began his career as a hydraulic engineer in the Pastdargom district. Later, he held responsible positions such as the head of the "Suvqurilish" trust, the first deputy minister of water resources, and the minister of land reclamation and water resources.

He also served as First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Uzbekistan, and after independence, as First Deputy Prime Minister. Jurabekov gained attention for his initiative and organizational qualities in the formation of the executive branch, the establishment of the farming movement, and the implementation of fundamental reforms in agriculture.

In recent years, as an advisor to the Minister of Water Resources, he has dedicated his knowledge and experience to educating young personnel and developing the sector.

His work was highly appreciated, and he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Irrigator of the Republic of Uzbekistan," the orders "Mehnat Shuhrati," "Dustlik," "Fidokorona xizmatlari uchun," "El-yurt Hurmati," and "Buyuk xizmatlari uchun."

It is emphasized that the memory of the outstanding statesman and caring mentor Ismail Jurabekov will forever remain etched in the hearts of the people.
