On October 1, on the occasion of Teacher and Mentor Day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a sincere congratulatory message to all educators. According to the President’s press service, the head of state emphasized the invaluable role of teachers and mentors in the development of society.
In his message, the President stated:
“You, dear teachers, who have dedicated your lives to the greatest and most noble work in the world — educating and nurturing the young generation, esteemed representatives of this sacred profession, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your contribution to building New Uzbekistan is truly immense,” the head of state stressed.
The President also touched upon upcoming reforms. Starting in 2026, “New Generation” kindergartens, similar to Presidential Schools, will be established in Karakalpakstan and all regions. Educators there will have the opportunity to study advanced pedagogical technologies.
From the new academic year, important innovations will also be introduced into the country’s education system. In particular, a gradual transition to a 12-year general school education will begin, as well as the introduction of unified state exams for 9th and 11th grade students. Based on their results, graduates will be able to directly enter technical schools and universities.
Furthermore, from the new year, teachers of the highest category with more than 15 years of experience will receive additional social support. Specifically, 25 percent of the initial payment on their mortgage loan will be covered by the state.
Experts note that these measures are important not only for raising the prestige of teachers and mentors but also for taking the education system to a new level of effectiveness.
