It became known that the number of Uzbeks traveling to Saudi Arabia has increased significantly. According to the National Statistics Committee, 165.7 thousand citizens traveled to Saudi Arabia in January-August 2025.
This figure is 53.8 thousand people or 48.1% more than in the same period last year. The majority of traveling citizens - 141.6 thousand people - traveled for tourism purposes. Also, 23.5 thousand people visited relatives, 548 people went for treatment, 62 people for official reasons, and 18 people for training.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has allowed visa holders to perform Umrah, which has led to an increase in the number of trips.
During this year's Hajj season, more than 15,000 pilgrims from Uzbekistan have performed the sacred rituals in an orderly manner. They arrived in Saudi Arabia from May 13 to 30 and returned to their homeland by June 29.
Experts note that electronic registration, online booking, and a convenient visa system have significantly simplified the travel process for citizens.
