In recent years, the demand for practical skills has been increasing in the labor market of Uzbekistan. More than 100 local companies and organizations participated in a survey conducted by the hh.uz job search platform.

According to the results, 47% of employers consider internships more important than a diploma. The main criteria for them were the candidate's experience, implemented projects, or industry skills.

At the same time, 55% of participants indicated that they make decisions depending on the type of position. For example, while experience in IT and engineering is considered paramount, a diploma in education and law remains the main requirement.

The attitude towards specialists who do not have a diploma but have completed advanced training courses has also changed - 34% of employers are ready to hire them, and 31% consider them worthy of initial positions.

Employers assess skills mainly through interviews, practice analysis, and test tasks. According to the survey results, the demand for specialists with practical experience who can show results in the labor market is constantly growing.

For information, according to the report of hh.uz, in the third quarter of 2025, the average salary was 4.36 million soums, which is 20% less than last year.
