To provide financial assistance to low-income families during the heating season, 1.2 trillion soms will be allocated, reports the [National Agency for Social Protection].
According to the presidential decree, more than 1.1 million families have been included in the social support program this year. Among them, 822,000 families were already listed in the social registry, and around 290,000 more were additionally identified through the “Mahalla Yettiligi” system.
The additional list includes families who have lost their breadwinner, families with members with disabilities, households with seriously ill individuals, lonely elderly citizens, and families not connected to the gas network. Assistance will also be provided to households where the breadwinner is a labor migrant or where family members are temporarily unemployed.
According to reports, last year 120,000 families received financial assistance of 270,000 soms each. This year, the amount allocated has increased by 2.5 times.
The total of 1.2 trillion soms will be financed from the state budget. Experts note that this initiative will provide significant relief to socially vulnerable segments of the population during the heating season.
