At the Asian Youth Games held in Bahrain, Uzbekistan’s national team achieved a historic success. Our compatriots finished the competition with 37 gold, 16 silver, and 28 bronze medals, taking second place in the overall standings after China.
This result marks the greatest achievement in the history of Uzbek sports at the Asian Youth Games and sets a new record for our country. In the previous, second Asian Games, Uzbek athletes had won only 1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
More than 4,000 athletes from 45 countries across the continent competed for medals at the Asian Games. Such a high result by the Uzbek delegation demonstrates the practical outcomes of ongoing systematic reforms in the development of youth sports.
This success is expected to open a new chapter for Uzbek athletes, encouraging greater youth participation in sports and further enhancing the country’s prestige on the international stage.
