Drivers who violate traffic rules for the first time will be exempt from fines
The Senate of the Oliy Majlis has approved the law on amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This law introduces a new penalty for drivers — a warning.

This document establishes the warning as a new measure of impact. According to the new procedure, if a driver commits a non-serious traffic violation for the first time, instead of a fine, they will receive a warning.

At the same time, the driver will be explained about the possible consequences of such a violation. This practice, which is being effectively used in international experience, is expected to help reduce repeated offenses and increase discipline among road users.

The document also clarifies the following: - The list of traffic violations detected with photo and video recording devices; - The period for imposing punishment within one month from the date the violation is recorded. Positive changes have been observed against the backdrop of recent reforms.

During the first eight months of this year, the number of road accidents decreased by 2.4%, and the number of fatalities decreased by 5.6%. Thus, the adopted regulatory legal act is aimed at preventing offenses, increasing drivers' legal literacy, and strengthening public trust in state institutions.
