A branch of the University of Belgrade will open in Uzbekistan
An important development is expected in Uzbekistan’s higher education system. It is planned to open a branch of the University of Belgrade, one of Serbia’s leading universities, in the country.

This university has consistently ranked in the world academic rankings’ top-1000 list. This was announced by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratboy Sharipov, in an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

According to the minister, the Serbian side is ready to offer Uzbek applicants the opportunity to study in promising areas such as engineering, information technology, and blockchain. This educational cooperation was agreed as a result of negotiations held on October 29 between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Aleksandar Vučić.

In addition, within the framework of this dialogue, cooperation issues with the University of Novi Sad were also discussed. It is planned to launch joint educational programs in the field of agriculture with this university.

These initiatives are part of broader agreements aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries and correspond to Uzbekistan’s overall strategy of attracting leading foreign educational centers.
