The working visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States of America was rich in content and of strategic importance. As part of the meetings in Washington, the head of state held talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House. During the conversation, a new stage of relations between the two countries was determined.
Also, within the framework of the visit, a summit in the "C5+1" format was held with the participation of the leaders of the Central Asian countries and the USA. This summit is aimed at further deepening regional dialogue and strengthening cooperation in the economic and security spheres.
During the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on the further development of the Uzbek-American strategic partnership, the expansion of joint investment and innovation programs, as well as the transformation of the "C5+1" platform into a driver of regional stability and economic growth.
During President Mirziyoyev's active program in Washington, a number of important meetings were also held. The head of state spoke with Senator Steve Daines, Congressmen Carol Miller, Bill Heisen, and Sidney Kamlager-Dav. During the talks, issues of intensifying legislative contacts and supporting new initiatives were discussed.
The President also met with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnick, Eximbank Chairman John Jovanovich, Chief Executive Officer of the International Finance Development Corporation Ben Black, and Global CEO of General Motors International, Shilpan Amin. During these meetings, important decisions were made to expand cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, industry, and IT, as well as to implement new investment projects.
In the business part of the visit, a round table was organized with the participation of leading US businessmen. This event further strengthened Uzbekistan's image as an open and reliable partner for international partners.
Following the negotiations, important bilateral and multilateral documents were signed. Among them are agreements aimed at protecting investments, liberalizing trade relations, and deepening financial cooperation.
Thus, this visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev raised relations between Uzbekistan and the USA to a new level. At the end of the visit, the head of state departed from Washington to Tashkent and noted that this time it opened a new page in relations between the two countries.
