
In an interview with UzA, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called the relations between the two countries "a strong alliance based on brotherhood." He emphasized that Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have been connected not for a century or two - but by a common spirit, common history, and national closeness formed over millennia.
According to Aliyev, there are many factors that unite the two peoples: similar language, customs, social values, cultural heritage, and most importantly - constantly preserved sincere respect for each other. The President noted with satisfaction that today these relations have reached a high level - the level of alliance.
The Azerbaijani leader emphasized that Uzbekistan has consistently defended the territorial integrity of Baku. According to him, this political support is one of the main proofs that the trust between the two countries is strong.
During the interview, Aliyev expressed sincere gratitude for Uzbekistan's constructive participation in the restoration of Nagorno-Karabakh. He particularly emphasized that the Mirzo Ulugbek school built in Fuzuli city, which currently serves approximately 600 children, is a life example of friendship.
According to him, Uzbekistan was the first country to initiate the restoration of Nagorno-Karabakh. This step will always be remembered by the Azerbaijani public with deep respect and sincere gratitude.
Concluding his remarks, Aliyev emphasized that the spirit of brotherhood between the two peoples will continue to strengthen and pave the way for new joint projects and strategic partnership initiatives.
