The price of methane has risen sharply in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, consumer market trends in October 2025 once again showed serious changes. According to the Central Bank's press service, prices for a number of goods and services have increased significantly, while some have decreased.

In October, the annual price of methane rose sharply, by 30.5%. This indicator was one of the most noticeable changes for the population. At the same time, gasoline prices increased by 11.7%, wedding rings by 33.4%, newspapers and magazines by 15.3%, cigarettes by 9.6%, and natural flowers by 9.8%.

On the contrary, a decrease in prices was observed for some types of products and equipment. For example, propane became cheaper by 18%, air conditioners - by 1.3%, televisions - by 0.3%, and paper - by 3.9%.

The Central Bank noted that the annual growth of 243 out of 250 food products in the consumer price index did not exceed 10%. However, some goods have risen sharply: boneless and bony beef - by 25.3% and 24.2%, cabbage - by 24.7%, sunflower oil - by 22.6%, and onions - by 18.9%.

A significant decrease in prices was also observed for some food products: peaches - by 28.7%, watermelons - by 21.8%, two types of rice - by 18%, cucumbers and bananas - by 17.6% and 15.1%, respectively.

There are also changes in the service sector. Money transfers became cheaper by 4.8%, microfinance services - by 0.2%. However, the cost of state kindergartens increased by 21%, central heating - by 20.9%, and electricity - by 18.8%.

Additionally:

- cost of domestic flights - by 52.3%;

- network gas - by 39.2%;

- cold water - by 35.1%;

- museum services - by 32.3%;

- Waste disposal - by 28.6%;

- liquefied gas - by 25%;

- the fare for city buses increased by 22.3%.

At the same time, annual inflation in the country decreased by 7.8%, decreasing by 2.4 percentage points compared to last year.

As a reminder, it was recently reported that methane prices at gas stations had risen to 5,200 soums per liter.

It is noted that these changes are related to seasonal market factors, resource prices, and changes in the supply system.
