In order to further accelerate the development of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, a number of new procedures and conveniences are being introduced. According to the government decree, now famous international clothing brands will be attracted to the country's major shopping and entertainment centers, and modern outlet complexes incorporating national architectural styles will be built in the cities. This work will begin first in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, and after 2030, it will be gradually expanded to other tourist destinations.
Starting February 1, 2026, a significant relief is being created for foreign tourists leaving Uzbekistan: they will be able to receive a refund in cash for value-added tax paid for goods purchased within the country. This decision aims to make travel to the country more convenient and beneficial for foreign guests.
At the same time, from March 1, 2026, a completely new opportunity will open for tourism startups. Subsidies of up to 50 percent of the costs associated with the creation and implementation of new types of services, up to 1 billion soums per year, will be allocated. This is aimed at stimulating private initiatives, supporting innovative ideas, and strengthening new related projects in the industry.
In addition, up to half of the expenses of hotels trying to obtain international "green" certificates will be covered by the state. These measures are aimed at developing environmentally sustainable tourism, improving the quality and competitiveness of services.
Thus, broad conditions are being created in the country for innovative ideas, new ideas, and modern infrastructure in the field of tourism.
