How did the Bukhara Biennale captivate millions of tourists?

In 2025, Bukhara became the center of attention of the world of culture and art. The International Biennale of Arts and Culture, held for the first time from September 5 to November 20, attracted the attention of not only the country, but also the whole world.

Even before the Biennale began, Bukhara had already managed to set records in tourism: during 2025, the city was visited by more than 2 million 250 thousand foreign guests, as well as more than 4 million local tourists. The launch of this major festival has further strengthened the tourist flow, transforming Bukhara into an increasingly prestigious destination for art lovers worldwide.

During the event itself, Bukhara welcomed approximately 1.6 million guests. The fact that there were more than 770,000 foreign tourists among them once again confirms the level of international interest in the Biennale.

The biennial, which lasted two months, became not only a source of cultural dialogue and exchange of artistic experience, but also a significant economic incentive. As a result of the influx of guests, the export of tourism services reached about $210 million - this, in turn, gave new impetus to the strengthening of the tourism brand of Bukhara and the country.

This biennale, which combines the artifacts of ancient civilization, the spirit of a historical city, and installations of contemporary art, marks the beginning of a new stage in Uzbek tourism.

Undoubtedly, the 2025 International Biennale presented Bukhara on the world cultural map in a more vivid and impressive way.
