Humans Declares Bankruptcy, Payment Service Halted

Humans declares bankruptcy, payment services suspended

Significant changes are taking place around the widely-used Humans ecosystem in Uzbekistan. As of December 9, the Central Bank has officially announced the temporary suspension of all payment services conducted through the Humans app by “Octagram” JSC.

According to reports, an economic court ruled on October 14 to declare the Humans company bankrupt. The most critical aspect is that the company has not been fully shut down; instead, the process of winding it up without ceasing operations has been initiated. This means all system operations, particularly payment services, will remain restricted until the legal and regulatory procedures are completed.

The Central Bank has stated that investigations regarding funds stored on Humans cards are underway. At present, authorities are conducting a full audit on the status of users’ funds, their withdrawal, and potential reimbursements. The regulator has indicated that additional official information on this matter will be provided in the coming days.

This situation has raised both concerns and questions among the thousands of consumers who relied on the Humans service. Experts have emphasized the necessity of this process proceeding under full legal oversight and control.

Further clarifications from the Central Bank, expected in the near future, are anticipated to shed more light on the resolution of this issue.
