Will it snow on New Year's Day?

Uzhydromet has announced the weather forecast for the period from December 29 to January 1 ahead of the New Year holidays. According to meteorologists, the weather across the country during the holidays will be mostly changeable, with rain and snow possible in some areas.

In the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region, precipitation is likely on December 29–30, while on December 31 and January 1 the weather will generally remain dry. Fog may occur. Daytime temperatures will stay around 5–10°C.

In the Bukhara and Navoi regions, rain is possible ahead of the holidays, especially on December 29–31. No precipitation is expected on the first day of the New Year. In some areas, wind strengthening is possible.

In Tashkent city and the central regions, rain may occur in some places on December 30–31, while December 29 and January 1 are expected to be relatively stable. Nighttime temperatures during the holiday are forecast at around 0–5°C.

In the southern regions, rain is also possible during the holidays, with daytime temperatures dropping to 7–12°C. In the Fergana Valley, rain may be observed on certain days, and temperatures will noticeably decrease.

In mountainous areas, the likelihood of welcoming the New Year with snowy weather is quite high. Periodic snowfall and icy road conditions are possible.

In general, snowfall is not expected in all regions during the New Year holidays, but winter scenery may appear in some places. Meteorologists urge travelers to consider weather changes when planning holiday trips.
