President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed construction work in New Tashkent. He inspected the construction of a new bridge over the Chirchiq River and a parking lot integrated with a metro station.
The projects aim to improve transport connections between the capital and New Tashkent, manage traffic flows efficiently, and create a convenient environment for residents. The new bridge will have a capacity of 40-50 thousand vehicles per day. Construction began at the end of this year, and the initial phase is underway.
The project pays special attention to the environment. Riverbanks will be greened, energy-efficient lighting systems installed, and pedestrian and bicycle paths constructed. A two-track tram line will also be laid across the bridge.
The metro line will be 21 kilometers long and include 9 modern stations. It will serve 230,000 passengers daily and fully integrate with existing metro lines in the capital. The parking lot integrated with the metro will cover 20,000 square meters. Earthworks and concrete pouring are currently in progress, and the complex is planned to open in 2027.
