On January 4, a fire broke out at the “Aviasozlar” (“Kadysheva”) market in Tashkent’s Yashnobod district. The Ministry of Emergency Situations’ press service reported this. This was reported by podrobno.uz.

According to the ministry, the fire report was received at 19:19 (Tashkent time). Five minutes later, at 19:24 (Tashkent time), four fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene. The fire was localized at 19:24 (Tashkent time) and fully extinguished at 19:34 (Tashkent time).

No injuries were reported. The fire damaged about 20 square meters of retail space.

The fire reportedly started in the Tegen shop, located near the staircase leading to the second floor of the market’s food block. A major fire also occurred in the same block on the night of December 13.

The cause of the fire and the amount of material damage are still being determined by specialists. It is noted that this is the second fire at the “Aviasozlar” market in less than a month. Earlier, it was also reported that a retail outlet with a bakery at the nearby “Aviasozlar” bus station burned down. Official reports did not provide information about a possible arson motive in these cases.
