A period of fundamental reforms begins in the defense system of Uzbekistan

The authoritative Polish portal "Kierunek Kaukaz" highly appreciated the ongoing renewal processes in the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan. In his article, journalist Kasper Ohman highlighted the need to adapt the strategic initiatives put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev - the country's defense doctrine and the concept of national security - to modern realities.

From outdated concepts to modern strategies

The article notes that it is time to revise the current defense doctrine approved in 2018 and the 1997 National Security Concept. The changing nature of military threats on a global scale and regional tensions prompt Uzbekistan to take the security system to a completely new level.

Priority of modernization and digital technologies

At the meeting of the Security Council, the head of state emphasized the need for a "proactive" approach to modernizing the army, that is, a system for predicting and eliminating threats.

  • Technological advancement: The introduction of digital solutions, unmanned aerial vehicles, and artificial intelligence elements in the management of the Armed Forces has been identified as the most important task.
  • Defense Industry: Ensuring the technological stability of the army is envisaged through the development of local production capacities.

Army - a center of high human capital and professional skills

The author of the article also drew attention to the revolutionary changes in the personnel training system. The University of Military Security and Defense will begin to use the most modern intellectual educational technologies.

  • New model: A model of military service will be created in which the soldier will not only learn to fight, but also acquire professional skills that will be in high demand in the labor market after demobilization.
  • Social protection: This approach opens up broad prospects for military personnel to find their rightful place in real life, even in peacetime.

According to the Polish publication, these reforms will demonstrate Uzbekistan not only on a regional, but also on an international scale as a state with a strong and modern military potential.

In your opinion, what is most important for a modern army - powerful weapons or a high-tech digital control system?
