While the end of winter in Uzbekistan is switching on the "spring mode," a sharp change in weather is expected by the weekend. According to Uzhydromet, moist and cool air masses will enter the country through Turkmenistan on Saturday.
On Friday, the weather will be dry and very warm in most regions. By midday, the air temperature can rise to +20...+25 degrees - this temperature is characteristic not of the end of winter, but of mid-spring.
At the same time, not everywhere will be "dry" on Friday: rain is possible in some areas of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region. By evening, there is also a chance of precipitation in some places in Bukhara and Navoi regions. In the north of the republic, the air will be cooler: around +8...+13 degrees.
The main "turning point" falls on February 21. Rain is expected overnight and in the morning in almost all regions, except for Karakalpakstan and Khorezm, with possible thunderstorms in some areas. In the regions of the Fergana Valley, rain is expected mainly in the morning and the first half of the day.
Special attention should be paid to the situation in the foothills and mountainous areas: on February 21, precipitation (rain and snow) is possible in some places, and mudslides may occur. Therefore, it is recommended to "agree with the weather" when planning trips, walks along rivers and streams, and recreation in these areas.
Wind gusts are possible: usually 7-12 m/s, in some places up to 13-18 m/s, in some areas with the possibility of occasional gusts up to 20-25 m/s.
On Saturday afternoon, the temperature will drop to normal values and will be within +9...+14 degrees. On Sunday, no precipitation is expected, and the weather will warm up again, rising to +15...+18 degrees. Fog is possible in some places overnight and in the morning of the weekend.
In the city of Tashkent: no precipitation is expected on Friday, the air will warm up to +22...+24 degrees. Rain and thunderstorms are possible on the night and in the morning of February 21st, with no precipitation expected during the day; the temperature will be around +11...+13 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, there will be no precipitation, fog is possible at night and in the morning; the temperature at night is +3...+5, during the day +14...+16.
The conclusion is simple: Friday says "yes, spring has come," Saturday reminds by saying "no, winter hasn't left yet." Therefore, add an umbrella and wind-resistant clothing for Saturday, and care for mountainous areas.
