In Tashkent city, to make the urban public transport system even more modern and convenient, it is planned to install “smart” stops. This was reported by the Traffic Management Center.
It is reported that the innovative stops will pay special attention to safety and convenience. Each stop will be equipped with two video cameras connected to a centralized surveillance system.
Additionally, a special SOS button will be installed for emergencies. Separate waiting areas are planned for citizens with limited abilities.
Moreover, electronic monitors showing the bus schedules will be installed at the stops. Vending machines allowing passengers to make quick purchases will also be placed.
It is emphasized that the “smart” stops will contribute to a safer, more convenient, and modern use of public transport.
At the end of 2023, there were also reports about the construction of “smart” stops in the capital. They were said to be equipped with a video surveillance system and to become more spacious.
At the stops, there will be the possibility to charge mobile devices, use Wi-Fi, and see on an electronic board how much time remains until the expected bus arrives.
